| On Thursday 13th October at our Annual General Meeting, we officially welcomed Mr. Karl Martindale as a new Patron for our charity. Karl and his very successful team at Widnes Martial arts school, based in Westbank, Widnes, have been avid supporters of our charity for some time helping to raise our profile and holding various fundraising events. The Widnes Martial Arts team turned out in force to complete our ‘5K Your Way’ event at Victoria Park in July this year and have further plans to support our work in the very near future. Widnes Martial Arts is a very well-established school with many local students. Their chosen art is a comprehensive traditional Korean system named Kuk Sool Won. Their offer is for all ages, all shapes and all levels. As well as their important teachings they promote confidence, inclusion, wellbeing, health and a real sense of community. They are very much a part of Halton’s rich tapestry. Karl is a resident of Widnes, and this is his home turf. His keen interest in our work has developed from his dedication to the importance of the health of our community, the connections and friendships he has made and his understanding of the influence and reach his fantastic school can have in sharing the messages of a charity. We can’t think of a more fitting Patron to welcome to our Charity, and we are delighted that Karl will willingly fly the flag for our charity, alongside the school’s many championship flags! We look forward to developing our relationship with Karl and his team. Karl and his wife, fellow instructor Sarah, are pictured here with our Chairman Mr. Gordon Ellis. |
