Meet the Team
When you come into the Centre these are the people you may meet,. While everyone has their own job roles we are a small charity with staff who genuinely care about the Centre and it’s users so it may be anyone from the staff team that completes your referral or shows you around.

Nicola Donoghue
Nicola is the Centre’s Operations Manager, responsible for the charitable and business requirements of the organisation and making sure the Centre provides the services the local community need for people who are affected by cancer. Nicola manages the staff team, the funding and finances, and is responsible for service development and maintaining quality standards. Nicola joined the organisation in 2009 and has held various positions within the Centre.

Sam Bourque
Sam is a professional counsellor. She co-ordinates and mentors our team of counsellors, supervising the overall counselling service. Sam also runs our children and young people’s service, working closely with local schools, providing sessions for young people when their lives are affected by cancer. Sam joined us in 2017 and has developed and nurtured our counselling offer to the professional service it is today.

Karen Millington
Karen job shares the role of Centre Co-Ordinator, working Monday to Wednesday. Karen makes sure the Centre runs smoothly from day to day, providing empathetic listening and support. she is also responsible for welcoming new people to our service, facilitating our peer support groups, and monitoring and recording Centre activity.

Becci Keller
Becci job shares the role of Centre Co-ordinator with Karen, working Wednesday to Friday. Becci also makes sure the Centre runs smoothly from day to day, providing empathetic listening and support. she is also responsible for welcoming new people to our service, facilitating our peer support groups, and monitoring and recording Centre activity.

Maureen Isherwood
Maureen is our Outreach & Engagement Worker. Her role takes her out into the community to share information about the Centre and its services with those who may benefit from some support. You may see her in shopping centres, doctors surgeries, community centres or any health and wellbeing events throughout the borough.

Our Volunteer Team
We have a dedicated team of volunteers who donate their expertise, time and passion to our work. They offer various skills including strategic direction within our Trustee Board, professional holistic therapies & counselling, fundraising, group support and welcoming new people. Our volunteer support changes depending on their availability and the needs of our service. We greatly appreciate all they do.
